Ascension Sunday

This Sunday we celebrated Ascension Sunday where Pastor Amanda reminded us that instead of waiting for clarity or intervention from heaven, we are called to trust the Spirit and actively live out Christ’s mission by showing up for others.

Reflection Questions:

1. When have you found yourself “looking up” and waiting for answers instead of taking action in faith?
2. What uncertainties in your life make it difficult to trust that God is still present and at work?
3. How might the Holy Spirit be equipping you right now to serve or support someone else?
4. In what small, everyday ways can you live out the good news through your actions this week?
5. What does it look like for you to shift from waiting for God to act to recognizing how God is already working through you?

Prayer:

Gracious and ever-present God, when we are tempted to stand looking toward the heavens, waiting for answers we do not have, remind us that you have already called and equipped us through your Spirit to serve in this world. Root us in your grace, not in our certainty, and give us courage to trust your promises even in the midst of doubt. Send us out as witnesses, through simple acts of love, presence, and compassion, so that others may glimpse your good news through us. And keep us mindful that Christ is not distant, but alive among us and within us, working through our lives each day. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
